Thanos taught me a pragmatic perspective about statistics and software that will accompany me throughout my life. He was a great instructor during my PhD program, which included an introduction to algorithms that profoundly improved my work. Besides being a mentor, he is a great friend who welcome my family to his home and made us feel part of a community. I am grateful for how helpful Thanos has been in my life and glad our paths crossed at LSU.
